This listing of the MK1.6 Fuzz is the Germanium version featuring a select pair of NOS RCA Germanium transistors. These provide classic germanium fuzz tones with a totally gorgeous clean-up. There's a huge range of tones available at your fingertips from sparkling cleans, through tube-like overdrive to fully saturated in your face fuzz. If you were only after one fuzz pedal, the MK1.6 Fuzz is the one to go for.

The MK 1.6 Fuzz is a hand-crafted pedal based on classic fuzz circuits of the mid-60s. The closest ancestors are the fabled 'MK 1.5' Tone Bender and Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face. This model includes a few added touches to enhance playability in the modern world.

The circuit is built upon a precision etched board with the highest quality components and an obsessive attention to detail. This version comes standard with a DC input jack (9v, tip negative) and LED indicator - there is also an internal 9v battery (included). Please note for DC power operation this germanium version must only be used with a fully isolated power supply, no daisy chains. Most modern multi-outlet supplies meet this requirement. Please enquire if not sure whether your power supply will work with this pedal.

Each pedal is built by hand, one at a time, and individually voiced to optimise its specially selected pair of transistors. This means no two pedals are exactly the same - they all have unique attributes and components are chosen to enhance the sonic qualities of each circuit.

The controls are simple but highly effective - 'Attack' dials up the fuzz and 'Level' sets the overall output of the effect, which ranges from soft to sonic destruction. The MK 1.6 is designed to provide a high level of output when desired and is capable of a significant volume boost - this fuzz will not disappear in the mix when engaged.

Raising the level also hits the input of your amp harder and interacts with preamp stages to produce beautiful overtones and a wide range of overdrive and distortion tones through to raging fuzz. The pedal provides a vast tonal palette to play with and subtle changes in pick attack and tweaks to your guitar's volume and tone controls offer up unlimited avenues for expression.

The Gain Mode switch provides three separate gain settings for the pedal. Low is a boost setting with Med and High progressively adding more gain and fuzz. Lower gain is also a tad brighter, high is fat and juicy. Each setting imparts its own special character and greatly adds to the versatility of the pedal in response to different musical situations, guitars, amps etc. Wherever you set it, be prepared for scintillating boosted fuzz tones!

All pedals come complete with a custom carry bag, signed and numbered certificate of authenticity and instruction card.

Best of both worlds - modern & vintage

This was the first Cunningham Amps fuzz pedal I bought, and it immediately made it onto my pedalboard for our new record. The volume boost here is significant and cuts great if you want it to, yet has a great range to allow for turning the volume back a bit to add some extra beefiness and breakup for choruses and riffs. Mostly I use it for leads though, and it pares fantastically well with other pedals like trems, delay, and eqs. I was able to capture the gnarliest leads I've ever recorded all thanks to this pedal. After tracking the Germanium version, I was inspired to try all the different options and I keep my silicon 1.6 around for hot sunny gigs (sounds a bit different but equally amazing as expected). It'll be a cold day in hell when I don't have one of these fuzzes on my board.

      This. Is. It.

I finally tracked one of these down in beautiful gold and, even with high expectations, the moment I clicked it on I was completely blown away.

The sounds this pedal produces are absolutely glorious and the range available across the low, medium, and high settings is unbelievable. No matter what kind of germanium fuzziness you’re after, this pedal has it - and much better than anything else on the market, believe me I’ve tried them all.

It is not possible to produce a sound that is less than heavenly with any settings. The real magic is the absolute clarity you can get when you roll off the guitar volume. There are a few pedals out there that can do this, but none with the sparkly punch that still comes through with the MK 1.6. And when you roll it back up the pedal breathes absolute fire. Not sure how he did it, but Tim’s alchemy bends the laws of physics.

This is a forever pedal, it’s my sound. If anything ever happened to it, I would order another one immediately.

FaceBending Brilliance at its Absolute Finest

A gem of a machine with one of the sweetest, most rewarding voicings I've ever heard.

Tim has taken the best elements of the MK 1.5 TB, and with his mad science, injected this into the cleanup and tonal capacity of a Fuzz Face.

This pedal is NOS genius and the Gain Mode 3 way switch easily makes it a contender at any price point for the best in-production Fuzz Face. I really don't type that lightly.

Each Gain Mode provides different interactions with other gain stages for your other interacting fuzzes or drives. Maybe you love where your tone is sitting but need to cut through your band's mix? Switching over to a higher gain and a few tweaks on the knobs, and you're golden.

I can't recommend this pedal enough. If you think you don't like fuzz, you might not have tried this yet. Since I found this, it hasn't left my board.

Cheers to somehow keeping Fuzz Faces fresh in 2024!

      Amazing pedal

I’m a 4x Grammy award winner producer and ever since I got this pedal I’ve used this on most of my guitars I’ve done on different projects. Love this drive.

      Mk1.6

I was looking to enhance my game a little in the pedal department. Don’t be put off by the price. Great things come in small packages and this pedal definitely delivers. It’s worth every penny and a mainstay on my board!!!

      Excellent

Excellent fuzz. Fantastic build quality. Cleans up very nicely. Low to almost no hum/noise when on. It hasn't left my board since I got it. Tim is also a pleasure to deal with.

The Master and Commander of Fuzz Boxes

I ordered a MK 1.6 from Tim on referral from Ivantic. It's the best fuzz pedal I've ever had, and I have many Ge/Si fuzzes I've acquired over the years. With my old Strat, it cleans up with sweet Tin Pan Alley tones below 7 on the Volume pot, and when I dial it up, it absolutely roars. A very versatile and always-on fuzz that never leaves my pedal board. A word about Tim Cunningham ... easy to work with, honest, and keeps his promises. A highly recommended builder, among the very best.

      MK 1.5

Quite simply the most organic, touch sensitive, natural, sound-enhancing Fuzz I've heard. It's an extension of my playing ... an instrument that inspires :)

      MK 1.6 Fuzz BC 108

This pedal is more than a fuzz with the three modes of gain low medium high you can use with any guitar ?? or amp combination and conjure up great TONES roll off the guitar volume and the magic begins from clean boost to rich smooth overdriven sustain, with outstanding build quality I use this pedal through a Marshall 50w plexi with a strat and les paul I couldn't be happier with this pedal, thanks again for the #66 pedal respectfully ??
